2016 NAKM Day 2 Sunday Lotus Light

MC 2016 lotus light

On Sunday evening, at the close of the final day of the 2016 North American Kagyu Monlam, we will chant the Marme Monlam (Butterlamp Aspiration Prayer). It is the custom for each participant to hold a lotus light aloft as the monlam is recited. The lamps are quite nice and display a sequence of colors, including the green shown in the photo. They will also look lovely on our home shrines as a souvenir of the 2016 NAKM.

Because of the schedule Sunday, with a celebratory dinner with Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche immediately following the end of chanting, the last opportunity to purchase a lamp will be Sunday during the lunch break. We recommend visiting the bookstore as early as possible to avoid the last-minute rush. Also, purchases are limited to one lamp per person, as supplies are limited. The price is $20.

This is a public service announcement. The main post for 2016 NAKM Day 2 is the synopsis of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche’s teaching.
